Extracurricular Opportunities

Speech Communication Association is a club for undergraduates with an interest in our discipline. The group holds regular meetings with guest speakers who help students understand career options and offer guidance for employment after graduation.

Aristotelians Soccer Team. The department regularly organizes a co-ed team to participate in the spring intramural soccer season.

Speaking Center. Outstanding undergraduates serve as consultants to assist students and other clients of our Speaking Center. Extensive staff training prepares students to use their knowledge and experience to help others improve their communication skills.

Study Abroad. The department periodically offers a summer course for undergraduate and graduate students in London as part of the Southern Miss British Studies Program.
