Leadership Competitions
At the present time Leadership Competitions are not being conducted.
We hope to reestablish the competitions for students in grades 7-12 in the future. The competitions offer an excellent opportunity for young people to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills and style. Areas of competition are: speeches (extemporaneous or prepared); plans for leadership (plans in progress or completed plans); essays (self-selected or designated topics); and the arts (graphics, photography, sculpture, and videotape). While judging of the four areas of competitions is taking place, participants who have been judged and those who are waiting to be judged will participate in creative leadership discussion groups. This will afford students the opportunity to interact with their peers and community leaders and to increase their knowledge of leadership. Parents, teachers, and other adults attending participate in a session on developing leadership in the school and home.
