BENJAMIN A. GILMAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Awards of up to $5,000 to support U.S. citizen undergraduates receiving federal Pell Grant funding at 2-year or 4-year undergraduate colleges or universities in study abroad.  Students studying a Critical Need Language may receive a $3,000 supplement for a total possible award of $8,000.  This program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  Deadline: Annually in October|| Contact: gilman@iie.org; Tel: 713-621-6300, ext 25 || Website: www.iie.org/gilman

THE NATIONAL FLAGSHIP LANGUAGE PROGRAM

WHITAKER INTERNATIONAL FELLOWS AND SCHOLAR PROGRAM
The Whitaker Program sends young U.S.-based biomedical engineers abroad to conduct a study and/or research project in the field of biomedical engineering for an academic year.  Offers a stipend commensurate with the recipient’s experience and expected expenses in the host country.  Deadline: Annually in January ||

NSF CENTRAL EUROPE SUMMER RESEARCH INSTITUTE (CESRI)

U.S. FULBRIGHT STUDENT PROGRAM
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Fulbright is the largest U.S. international exchange program offering opportunities for students, scholars and professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools worldwide.  Deadline: Annually in October || Website: http://us.fulbrightonline.org

THE HONOR SOCIETY OF PHI KAPPA PHI
Founded in 1897, THe Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline honor society. Phi Kappa Phi is pleased to sponsor this Study Abroad Grant competition. The Society's Board of Directors encourages qualified undergraduate in all areas of study to apply. UNESCO LAURA W. BUSH FELLOWSHIP
The fellowship will help fund a proposal designed by the applicant to conduct brief work in a foreign country related to the mandate of UNESCO – using education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and/or communication and information to build strong ties among nations. The fellowship is intended for American college/university students who express an interest in international collaboration but as of yet had not been afforded many opportunities to travel abroad. The length of time for the travel is expected to be between 4 and 6 weeks and should include interaction with individuals from other nations.
